What Tech Will it Take to Put Self-Driving Cars on the Road? 

1.     The author describes the challenge as follows, “Before self-driving cars can hit the road however, there are many technological challenges that need to be overcome (not to mention the legal and regulatory hurdles).” How does the word choice affect the meaning of the article? 
- The word choice affects the meaning of this article because, it makes it shown that this article is about improving self-driving cars so that they can be more safe.

2.     According to the article what is the difference between an autonomous car and a self-driving car? 
- According to the article an autonomous car is a car that can drive itself however, the driver can take control when needed. Whilst in a self-driving car the human driver cannot take control, because there are no brakes or controls.

3.     What are some of the existing technology that does not depend on extra infrastructure? 
- Some existing technologies that do not depend on extra infrastructure are: Light Detection and Ranging technology, camera vision, and vehicle-to-vehicle communication.

4.     What are some of the technologies that require additional infrastructure to work? 
- Some of the technologies that need infrastructure to work is: 3D mapping, vehicle-to-infrastructure communication, and reflectors and transmitters.

5.     What is the impact of the author’s word choice when describing, “The technologies to achieve self-driving vehicles actually feels very much within reach.” 
- The impact the author's word choice has is that it makes the reader think the self-driving will be able to improve soon and fast.
